Oh thank goodness. We've been living in a long, dark period, when cynical men with obedient--and occasionally deranged--underlings justify their vicious behavior by hiding under the cloak of patriotism. Torture is morally repugnant and, ironically, ineffective. No effective argument can be made for its use.

Thanks for the post.

I totally agree with the vicious blow to morality torture imposes on an individual and a society. The hard part is to determine where torture lay. What denotes torture?

If you have an individual whom you have caught red handed and know they have information but refuse to talk; where is the moral boundary in how to coax the information from that person?
